Prepared Together: School Safety & Crisis Response
Serban Sound & Communications invites you to a special presentation featuring The “I Love U Guys” Foundation.
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Serban Sound & Communications is proud to host this special school safety and preparedness event for The “I Love U Guys” Foundation. The half-day program will bring education, public safety, and community professionals together to explore practical approaches to emergency response, communication, and student reunification.
ABOUT I LOVE YOU GUYS:
The Foundation is nationally recognized for its work in school and community safety, helping schools, districts, first responders, and community partners prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergency situations. Their mission is to restore and protect the joy of youth through education, preparation, and collaboration. This event is an opportunity to look at practical strategies that can help strengthen emergency planning, establish a common language among everyone involved, and build greater confidence in how your organization responds when a crisis occurs.
WHOS INVITED:
This presentation can be beneficial to a wide range of individuals who may play a role before, during, or after an emergency. This includes superintendents, assistant superintendents, district and school administrators, principals, maintenance and operations personnel, information technology staff, safety and security teams, first responders, law enforcement, and other community partners. Because an effective emergency response often involves multiple departments and agencies working together, understanding the same terminology, procedures, and expectations can help improve communication and coordination when it matters most.
WHATS COVERED:
During the SRP/SRM Half-Day Overview, Kevin Burd, Training Director, from The “I Love U Guys” Foundation will introduce attendees to the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and Standard Reunification Method (SRM), highlighting their key concepts and how they are used in emergency response and reunification planning. Attendees will see how the SRP uses five clear, action-based responses Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter to create a consistent approach to a wide range of emergency situations. The presentation will also discuss how these concepts can be incorporated into an organization’s existing emergency response plans and how a common vocabulary can improve communication between staff, students, first responders, and other stakeholders.
The Standard Reunification Method (SRM), provides a structured approach for safely and accountably reuniting students with their parents or guardians following a school emergency. Attendees will gain an understanding of the planning, roles, responsibilities, and coordination involved in an effective reunification process and how preparation ahead of an incident can help bring order to what may otherwise be a stressful and challenging situation.
